Course Aims and Content

We aim to give you maximum opportunity to make progress in your English communication skills. Each level uses an appropriate course book and extra materials to focus on a range of different skills. Lessons can be dedicated to:

• Developing speaking skills; having group and pair discussions, giving short talks, giving presentations
• Improving range and accuracy of grammar and vocabulary
• Understanding spoken English and improving pronunciation
• Developing reading and listening skills
• Developing writing skills; emails, reports, compositions, letters

Adult outings

ELC organises one to two adult outings per year. These are an excellent way to meet other students studying English at ELC, to practice your speaking and listening skills, as well as an opportunity to practice useful life skills such as presenting in English. Furthermore, it is a unique opportunity to get out of the classroom, build confidence and use English in real life settings.
